Thankful

I didnt put a post it there so mine would be in this blog. =)
I'm thankful for having a sister here and to celebrate thanksgiving!! =)

So yesterday was pre-thanksgiving i would say. My sister and Keegan were suppose to go to one of the church's pastor house, which we went for crossroads dinner before. I was kinda reluctant to go because like its all older people and everybody know's everybody, I felt kinda lonely there. However it was way better than i thought. I met with a few people that i was talking to last time and we had good conversation. Sadly we arrived later so i couldn't snap pictures of the food but only got the desserts. Well that is basically the nicest looking part of the dinner i think. LOL So yes i did enjoy my time there and food as well. Turkey baby!! Roast pork as well...Good shit i tell you!!

So let me show you some food that my sis made.

Smoker salmon layered with cucumber on sliced French bread, toasted and with cream cheese spread. Really good appetizers, kena sapu by everyone.

Toasted bacon with grape tomatoes and a strip of red onion on a toasted French bread spread with pesto sauce. Finished as well, but i personally think salmon better because i would definitely choose salmon over bacon. Hehehe.

Pear pie made by Keegan. Since he started his pastry classes already, his level of baking definitely increase way up high. This wasn't that good but wait till you see the next dessert he made.

Frozen souffle with cranberry, mint and sprinkle cinnamon. Looks good?? well it taste damn awesome too. 4 thumbs up man!!

So here are the other desserts which were also darn good. plus with the amount of variety, there were a lot leftovers.

Another thing that I would be thankful, i had my Japanese food here for lunch. And it is no ordinary Japanese food man.

Its a restaurant in Brookline, Boston. Nice cosy location and setting, with Japanese waitress.
Food - Darn good!! Double plus for presentation!!

Lunch set that i ordered. Start from 6o'clock, clockwise. We had tuna, mackerel and flat fish sashimi then cold vegetable, then grilled salmon, then steamed broccoli, then prawn, broccoli and yam tempura, then fried chicken, then 2 grapes, then seaweed and lastly in the middle vegetable and peanut sesame sauce.

Another set lunch. Rice with grilled prawn and fried chicken, then fish roe, then tuna, flat fish and salmon sashimi, then udon noodles, then grilled salmon, then cawanmushi, then prawn, broccoli, and yam tempura then 2 grapes and in the middle they have prawn roe, grape tomato and vegetable inside and semi rare beef.

Don't both of them just look too good to be eaten??
So satisfying to have something nice to see and eat after 2 months of horrible looking dining hall food!! hahaha
HAPPY!!

Movie Frenzy

Not in Malaysia anymore, means

no late night movies in Pyramid...

no random 'lets go watch movie' activity

no cutting the queue ' owh i lost my reservation number, can i just get 2 seats' alasan

LOL

well, cinema's in US is SOOO different

First, there is no seating given, first come first serve

Second, the cinema is not comfy, but more spacious i would say

Third, once you buy a ticket here, you can watch countless of movies as you like.
(you pass your ticket, go in a movie, watch finish, walk out the way you came in, then venture to another cinema as you like. ain't it cool or what??)

Fourth, the preview's here are way better, more funny and more local movies that somehow doesn't make the cut in Malaysia but still are good movies.

Enough of the drag. I'm here to blog about NOT THE movie of the week, because practically everybody has already blogged about it. I'm here to criticize 2012!!

Well a typical end of the day movie. A family involved. Government involved.
Geologist, Scientist, whoever smart involved.
So the story plot goes the same, a family trying to save their love ones with any option they have.

So it was just SO - SO because scenes were too dramatic and so unrealistic.
Well from my point of view at least.

But one thing that was great was the effects and graphics. They definitely did a GREAT job with it.
My rating only 6/10. 5 points for the effects. 1 for the plot.

Well, it is actually pretty easy 1,2,3 kinda steps, that everyone can do.
But it really do taste good, with sauces and marinate from Williams & Sonoma shop.

Healhcare Reform

Being in America, there is no doubt in missing such a big issue. Well other than the Iraq and Afghanistan war, there is nothing much the government has being doing but just to get this reform to be approved. Ok i'm not gonna make this post so political, but i got happy seeing an actuary word in an article.

You must be thinking, why am i reading American newspaper when back in Malaysia i dont even read the news. Well i have to write a 6 pages paper on this issue, and suppose to get 5 sources from newspapers. Haihh so mafan.

But today i saw something that lighted my day and my career prospect as i actually thought it will not be in great demand in the future. But i guess wrong, even in politics they need actuary. Well according to the Washington Post Newspaper for sure.

"Congress could intervene to avoid such an outcome, but "so doing would likely result in significantly smaller actual savings" than is currently projected, according to the analysis by the chief actuary for the agency that administers Medicare and Medicaid. That would wipe out a big chunk of the financing for the health-care reform package, which is projected to cost $1.05 trillion over the next decade."

Braces freaks!

Forever tiny and forever smiley
As my tuition buddy for 4 tuition,
you can never get more time with any individual,
the light of the class for me to shadow on,
the object of the class to poke on,
the friend that is afar in distance but close in other every way.

Camp Frim

English tuition,
Teacher Anne's memorable lessons,
unforgettable sketches and acts,
jean has again been the tiny one of the group,
Cherly, Jean, me, Xian,
reminds me of the order of the table which we kid around the most.

The speed of time

As it is the end of Fall 09,
Spring 10 invites me to start,
but in a year,
it will mark my end,
of a college degree,
at an age of 20.

Graduation seem so far,
but its as near as,
just 2 semesters,
leaving me to my senior year,
to have fun and live,
the american life with,
college wild students.

Praying only this semester,
will be the miserable semester,
as the others will be exciting,
and better friends,
would come to make my year.

I would say,
these 2 years would be,
the last of my youth life,
as graduate school,
or work,
will never have me,
being innocent and naughty as I am.

Will I be missing a youthful section of my life,
to graduate so early?

My past and present ritual

I've gone back to my olden days ritual

To pass time and make myself feel good

To be an individual in another realm

Its non other than the world of SIMS!!

Installed Sims 3 when i first reach Boston but thought it was not very good,

Got too bored since my roomie will be away for 4 days,

Decided to stick my fatty ass on the chair,
